I turn public health data into evidence that programmes can actually act on.
Supporting stronger health programs through monitoring and evaluation, health data analysis, GIS and spatial analysis, surveillance, community health, WASH, and evidence-based decision making.
BSc Public Health graduate from JKUAT and currently a Monitoring and Evaluation Intern with the Building Resilient and Responsive Health Systems (BREHS) programme, a World Bank-funded Ministry of Health initiative.
From data collection and quality assurance to analysis, visualization and reporting, I help turn information into evidence that supports better decisions.
01
Monitoring & evaluation
Results framework tracking, indicator definition, performance reporting and process evaluation support for health and development programmes.
02
Public health data analysis
Cleaning, analyzing and interpreting health data so it is ready for reporting and produces reliable, decision-ready insights..
03
Dashboard development
Power BI and Excel dashboards built around the questions a programme actually asks, rather than around every field in the dataset.
04
GIS & spatial analysis
Mapping facilities, field observations and movement data in QGIS to show distribution, coverage gaps and spatial patterns.
05
KoboToolbox survey design
Digital form design with skip logic, constraints and validation, plus enumerator setup and offline field deployment.
06
Data quality assessment
Routine data quality checks against accuracy, completeness, timeliness and consistency, with practical fixes for issues identified.
07
Occupational health & safety support
Workplace inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety documentation and incident investigation on active sites.
08
Research & reporting
Study support, literature review, analysis write up and clear reporting for technical and non technical audiences.

Health & Safety Officer
Nairobi River Regeneration Project
Managed day-to-day occupational health and safety activities across live excavation and riverbank restoration works, including toolbox talks, task-specific risk assessments, workplace inspections, and maintenance of incident and inspection records supporting site compliance.
Each entry sets out the challenge, the approach taken, the tools used and what came out of it. Outcome lines marked as pending are placeholders for you to confirm before publishing.
01GIS & spatial analysis
Kenya health facilities spatial analysis
Challenge
National facility listings show what exists but not where coverage thins out, so gaps in geographic access are hard to see from a table.
Approach
Cleaned and geocoded publicly available facility data, then mapped distribution and density by county to surface underserved areas.
Tools
QGISExcelOpen facility data
Outcome
A county level distribution map and supporting summary that makes access gaps visible at a glance. Confirm final outputs before publishing.
02GIS & field mapping
Marsabit livestock GPS mapping
Challenge
Livestock movement in arid counties drives water point pressure and disease exposure, but raw GPS logs do not explain either on their own.
Approach
Processed GPS tracking points into movement paths and cleaned the coordinate data, then mapped routes against water points and settlement areas.
Tools
QGISGPS dataExcel
Outcome
Movement maps showing where herds concentrate and when. Confirm final outputs before publishing.
03Data visualization
Public health Power BI dashboard
Challenge
Health indicator data arrived in static spreadsheets that nobody could interrogate without going back to the analyst.
Approach
Modelled the dataset, built calculated measures, and designed an interactive dashboard with filters for period, region and indicator.
Tools
Power BIExcelDAX
Outcome
A self service dashboard that lets non analysts answer their own routine questions. Confirm final outputs before publishing.
04Digital data collection
KoboCollect data workflow
Challenge
Paper based field collection produced slow turnaround, transcription errors and incomplete records that were discovered too late to fix.
Approach
Designed digital forms with skip logic, constraints and required fields, set up enumerator accounts for offline collection, and defined a clean export path into analysis.
Tools
KoboToolboxKoboCollectExcel
Outcome
Validated data captured at source, with errors caught in the field rather than at analysis. Confirm final outputs before publishing.
05Monitoring & evaluation
BREHS monitoring dashboard
Challenge
Results framework indicators reported from multiple counties needed to be consolidated and reviewed quickly ahead of quarterly reporting.
Approach
Structured the indicator data, applied completeness and consistency checks, and built a tracking view showing performance against targets by period.
Tools
Power BIExcelResults framework
Outcome
A single view of indicator performance for quarterly review. Confirm final outputs and clearance before publishing.
06Occupational health & safety
Occupational safety risk assessment
Challenge
Excavation and riverbank works exposed crews to shifting hazards that a one off site induction could not cover.
Approach
Ran task based hazard identification, scored risks by likelihood and severity, specified controls, and tied them to daily toolbox talks and inspection rounds.
